January 13, 2023 — After much reflection, I decided I would follow the Salt River from its beginning in the high mountains to its end on the desert floor. It would be a quest to find out, if I could, what we humans are doing right and what we are doing wrong to balance the natural environment with the built world. And I would do this by experiencing the Salt River firsthand. I would travel its length by any means possible, visiting as much of it as I could in one year. Along the way, I would document my journey with words and photographs.
